| Some Pioneer DVD drives and recorders
require a firmware update in order to avoid potential
damage to the units and discs prior to using high speed 4X DVD-R and 2X DVD-RW
media. These Pioneer DVD
drives and recorders include:
|
- Pioneer DVR-7000 DVD recorder
- Pioneer PRV-9000 Professional DVD recorder
- Pioneer DVR-A03 / DVR-103 computer drive
- Pioneer DVR-A04 / DVR-104 computer drive
- Drives manufactured by Pioneer for certain
computer manufacturers such as Apple, Compaq and Sony are also affected.

| NOTES: |
- The updates enable you to read from and
write to the new high speed media, but do not increase the speed of your
drive. Your updated drive will write to high speed DVD-R and DVD-RW media at
1X. We recommend that you continue to use 2X DVD-R media in your drive for
optimum performance.
- Drives supporting DVD-RAM
and +RW formats are not affected by this issue.
