The HP dvd300i is an internal ATAPI/IDE interface drive that writes to
several recordable media formats, including DVD+R/+RW and CD-R/RW. With an
industry leading DVD+R write speed of 4X, and 2.4X DVD+RW write/rewrite the HP
dvd300i quickly burns an entire DVD in 15 minutes. Plus, CD recording is fast and
simple with 16x CD-R (write), 10x CD-RW (rewrite) and 40x CD (read) speeds.

DVD+RW is well suited to applications where data may need to be freely
overwritten in everyday use, such as for storing data or making DVD-Videos, and

On the other hand, DVD+R has been developed for those instances where
important data should never be erased or data is to be distributed/exchanged and
compatibility is extremely important. While keeping data from being erased or
overwritten, the discs share a high level of compatibility because of its
physical specifications that are basically the same as DVD-ROM discs. With
